BMHA’s Constitution, Bylaws, policies and procedures provide the framework for how the Association is governed and how its programs and operations are managed. Whether you’re a parent, player, coach, team official, volunteer or member of the Association, these documents provide information about BMHA’s governance, rules, and processes.

constitution & Bylaws
BMHA’s Constitution sets out the purposes of the Association - essentially, why BMHA exists and what it is established to do.
BMHA’s Bylaws set out the rules for how the Association is governed. They cover areas such as membership, meetings and voting, the Executive Board, elections, financial matters, and discipline and appeals.
Together, the Constitution and Bylaws form BMHA’s core governing documents.
Policies & Procedures
BMHA’s policies and procedures provide more detailed guidance on how the Association operates and how specific matters are handled.
Although they work together, they serve different purposes:
- Policies establish the rules, principles and expectations that guide BMHA decisions and activities. They help ensure matters are handled fairly and consistently across the Association.
- Procedures, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), explain how specific processes are carried out. They provide practical guidance on the steps to follow, responsibilities and how a particular process is administered.
BMHA Policy Manual
BMHA is transitioning from an overarching Information & Policy Manual (updated May 2020) to individual policies and procedures organized by topic. During this transition, the Policy Manual continues to apply.
Where an individual policy below addresses the same subject, the individual policy is the current policy and takes precedence.
