To the Members of Burnaby Minor Hockey Association (“BMHA”):

We hope you are all healthy and safe during this time. Thank you for doing what you can to assist our community and our Province. Everyone has a role to play.

The summer is almost upon us and many people are likely wondering what minor sports will look like when play is able to resume. Recent announcements from the Province of British Columbia (the “Province”) have motivated sport governing bodies to develop return to play guidelines. Minor hockey is no exception and BC Hockey, with direction from Hockey Canada, is working on these guidelines. These guidelines will require collaboration with the Province, the City of Burnaby, and our governing bodies.

The Executive is busy planning for a 2020-2021 season. At this time, we do not know what the coming season will look like, however, we will follow the guidelines set by the Province, the City of Burnaby, and our governing bodies. We will ensure that minor hockey returns to Burnaby in a responsible and safe manner.

Please follow the link to hear what Hockey Canada has to say.

Thank you for your patience as we work through the return to play procedures. It is our goal to promote the game of hockey in our community in a safe and responsible way. We recognize the importance of the mental and physical benefits of keeping our children active and engaged in activities and we are excited to be an option to families. You can be confident that when the Province is ready for minor hockey to resume, BMHA will be ready.
