The President’s Award recognizes an individual who has made an outstanding contribution in supporting the Burnaby Minor Hockey Association President throughout the season.
This year’s recipient, Jason Uy, has made an impact on every player, family and team in our Association.
Jason transformed how we volunteer at BMHA. He built an association‑wide volunteer program that empowered people to get involved. He devoted countless hours getting the program off the ground and maintaining it all season long. The result was a better, more connected experience for our players and families.
Jason’s vision and work created Livestreaming and Plays of the Month, two programs that have strengthened the connection between our teams and their families. Grandparents watching from home and families cheering from afar can now cheer on their favorite Bulldog. Other associations are now looking to replicate these ideas in their programs.
Jason brought back the Spring Blast Tournament and made it better. This year’s event welcomed over two dozen teams from across the province. From the skills competition, to the hand‑made Candy Cups, to every detail in between, everything reflected the high standard Jason brings to everything he touches.
BMHA is stronger because of Jason’s vision and commitment to creating a positive experience for all our members. The programs he’s initiated extend beyond a single season, they form a legacy that will continue to elevate the experience for our players, families, and community for seasons to come.
Congratulations Jason! Thank you for the passion, dedication, and heart you’ve poured into BMHA.

Steven has also supported teams as a long-time manager, helping create a positive and memorable experience for players and families.
Congratulations Steven! Thank you for your dedication to making BMHA better for everyone!
